After getting married in Feb 2004, we spent a year-long honeymoon in India. It was a wonderful time - a one-in-a-lifetime experience.

Tirupati

A trek to the most visited and richest Hindu temple in India - the Golden-domed Sri Venkateshvara Temple in the Tirumala Hills

Goa

The honeymoon continues with a trip to the gorgeous beaches, crystal waters, and colonial Portuguese architecture of Goa.

Minakshi Temple, Madurai

Family pilgrimage to one of the largest Hindu temples in the world.

Kodaikanal

Trip to the beautiful hill station in Tamil Nadu on a chilly December day

Tsunami in Chennai

Tragedy strikes early on Dec 26 when a tsunami hits the Tamil Nadu coast. Chennai avoids the brunt of the waves, but not without some severe damage.

Ana's Tour of Kolkata Pujas

Kolkata during Durga Puja is a spectacular, if insane, time - Ana goes to  investigates.

Jaipur

An excursion to Rajasthan to visit the romantic pink city.

Delhi

Taking in the sights and sounds on whirlwind tour of India's capital.

Agra

What more romantic place to visit than the Taj - a glowing monument to love.

Kerala

Lush vegetation, stunning scenery, and a palace on a lake at the Periyar Wildlife Preserve in Kerala, not to mention spice gardens and ayurvedic massage.

Pondicherry

This old French colony on the Tamil Nadu coast is the home of the Aurobindo Ashram and the new-age town, Auroville.

The Beach Palace

It's nice to be an expat in India - as our modest accommodation will testify.

Fisherman's Cove

Spent quality time at a resort on the Tamil Nadu coast south of Chennai. Got in some excellent fishing.

Mysore

Visited the dramatic Mysore Palace and sprawling Brindavan Gardens with Ana and her brothers on a day-trip from Bangalore.

The Shrines of Mahabalipurum

Close to Chennai are the 7th-century rock shrines of the peaceful town of Mahabalipurum.

The Temples of Kanchipurum

Temples devoted to Shiva and Vishnu litter the town of Kanchipurum, also famous for its silk sarees.

Our Wedding

This is how it all started - a beautiful traditional Indian wedding in Ranchi, India full of ritual, ceremony, and colour. 1800 people attended the festivities, and it took four days to finally say we were married.
